TV Food Series
Wisconsin Foodie is an Emmy-winning independent television series dedicated to discovering the stories behind the food we eat in Wisconsin and throughout the Midwest. For seasons 15 & 16, I was part of a tight-knit crew consisting of two cinematographers, a director, and host Luke Zahm. This was a fast-paced show that allowed minimal scouting and required a blend of verité doc coverage and directed scene work. As one of 2 cinematographers, we were responsible for all gaffing, sound recording, interview set-ups, and camera work.

In a special hour-long episode, we worked with Kikkoman Corporation to produce a food story in Japan on the 50th anniversary of Kikkoman's soy sauce production in Wisconsin. From international travel logistics to rigorous shooting schedules, we brought the pieces into place to help celebrate and strengthen the relationship between Wisconsin and Japan.
In this Emmy-nominated episode of Wisconsin Foodie, we visit the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin to bear witness to the ten-year remembrance of a gunman opening fire and killing seven members. Creating this episode required filming in a sacred space and paying special attention to cultural etiquette and the comfort of those being filmed. As one of our most rewarding Wisconsin Foodie experiences, it was a humbling reminder that we are all one, and that through communal meals, we have the ability to gather, share, remember, and celebrate one another.
Host Luke Zahm travels to visit Applefest in Bayfield, Wisconsin. Afterward, he visits Red Cliff Fish Co. to learn more about how the Red Cliff Tribe is working to create a more sustainable food economy for the tribe and the broader community. Luke prepares a dish on the shore of Lake Superior using Hauser’s apples and Red Cliff whitefish.
Host Luke Zahm explores how Michael and Courtney of 3 Brothers Farm use their pasture-raised, organic egg farm to help raise a family in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Afterward, he sits down with the owner of Uncle Wolfie's Breakfast Tavern in Milwaukee to discuss the rich flavors of farm-to-table cooking, the impact of sustainable farming practices, and the power of supporting the local food movement.
Travel TV Series
As the nation’s longest-running travel & tourism TV series, this Emmy award-winning TV show highlights 35 years of destinations, adventures, and local initiatives across Wisconsin. During my one-year contract as a producer for Discover Wisconsin, I took several episodes from start to finish, serving as Producer, Director, DP, and Editor. When not working on my own episodes, I served as DP for other episode producers during season 34.

Crime Documentary
The fight against hate continues 25 years after Matthew Shepard’s tragic death. When Matthew Shepard, a gay college student, was brutally tortured and left for dead in Wyoming, this shocking act of violence captured the nation’s attention. It sparked a debate about the discrimination, danger, and violence that many LGBTQ+ Americans face. Regarded as one of the worst anti-gay hate crimes in American history, as well as a turning point in the fight for LGBTQ+ rights, The Matthew Shepard Story is a timely tribute to Matthew’s story at a time when the LGBTQ+ community is once again under attack.

Cinéma Vérité Short Doc
A throwback to my very first video project. I didn’t know it at the time, but this was my introduction to Cinéma Vérité. I co-produced, directed, filmed, and edited this short doc while on a road trip in 2017. We ran into Morto completely by chance at a bar in Missoula, Montana. Equipped only with a mirrorless camera, a drone, and 1 day to film, we captured a glimpse into the life of one of the United States most interesting motorcycle collectors. It eventually got picked up by The Vintagent, a media company dedicated to Vintage Motorcycles and Motorcycle Culture.
