Wisconsin Foodie Season 15 & 16

TV Food Series

Wisconsin Foodie is an Emmy-winning independent television series dedicated to discovering the stories behind the food we eat in Wisconsin and throughout the Midwest. For seasons 15 & 16, I was part of a tight-knit crew consisting of two cinematographers, a director, and host Luke Zahm. This was a fast-paced show that allowed minimal scouting and required a blend of verité doc coverage and directed scene work. As one of 2 cinematographers, we were responsible for all gaffing, sound recording, interview set-ups, and camera work.

Exploring Japan with Kikkoman

In a special hour-long episode, we worked with Kikkoman Corporation to produce a food story in Japan on the 50th anniversary of Kikkoman's soy sauce production in Wisconsin. From international travel logistics to rigorous shooting schedules, we brought the pieces into place to help celebrate and strengthen the relationship between Wisconsin and Japan.

Chef Shack

In this episode, Luke Zahm takes us on a culinary and cultural journey along the Mississippi River, starting with a paddle through its ever-changing waters and leading to the charming Chef Shack in Bay City, Wisconsin. Co-owners Carrie Summer and Lisa Carlson share their story of blending world-class cuisine with local ingredients, inspired by their travels and rooted in community.

Redcliff Fish Company

Host Luke Zahm travels to visit Applefest in Bayfield, Wisconsin. Afterward, he visits Red Cliff Fish Co. to learn more about how the Red Cliff Tribe is working to create a more sustainable food economy for the tribe and the broader community. 3 Brothers Farm

Host Luke Zahm explores how Michael and Courtney of 3 Brothers Farm use their pasture-raised, organic egg farm to help raise a family in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Afterward, he sits down with the owner of Uncle Wolfie's Breakfast Tavern in Milwaukee to discuss the impact of sustainable farming practices and the power of supporting the local food movement.
